At Toback Builders, we understand that your fur-children are an important part of your life. Every animal deserves the same luxuries that we do, so we have compiled a list of things you can add to your new stick built custom home!

1. Stain Resistant Carpeting

If you should choose to put wall-to-wall carpeting in your new custom home, you may want to heavily consider stain resistant as the way to go. There are several options to choose from, and they are all wonderful on your feet, and your fur-pals paws.

2. Pet Door

It is not always a good idea to leave your pet outside for long periods of time. You can choose to install a small, medium or large pet door to your home. These can be installed in solid doors as well in some exterior walls. This will give your animal the independence they need to go in and out at will.

3. Built-in Pet Supply Storage

Having a central place where all of your animal supplies go, is just as important as having a place where you put all your cleaning tools. Consider adding a small pantry where you can store toys, shampoo & towels, food and more!

4. Pet Washing Station

Incorporating the wash station into the mudroom is a very popular option. Dogs usually enter from the back or side door, and their muddy paws never make it into the rest of the house. You may want to include a hand-held shower head. Go bigger with the drain, usually a 3-inch drain will do the trick. If you have smaller pets, an elevated bath will be easier on your back and knees. These are also great ways to water plants, rinse off gross shoes, and clean your gardening tools!

5. Hideaway Drawer for Food & Water Bowls

Hideaway drawers are perfect for discreetly hiding your pet’s food bowls until the next meal time, so they don’t over eat. They also give you more foot space to work with in whatever room you choose to feed your animals in.

6. Customized Outdoor Dog run

Dog runs are a great solution for homeowners with pets who like to dig, chew plants, and/or jump on guests. Runs can be customized in size and fencing, depending on your needs and wants, and can also include a shaded cover to keep Tom out of the hot sun.

But, no matter the needs of your pet, we can accommodate them. Here at Toback Builders we love animals and love to make the homes we built friendly enough for them.
